December 2012

It’s the end of the year and the Mayan calendar, but not the end of the world. Yes, it was a difficult year but then change is always challenging. Each of you have been asked to look at yourself and your goals in a new light – redefine who you are. I hope you had the courage to go into your fears so you could get rid of them once and for all.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22- Dec 21):  Your work seldom gets neglected, but your own inner needs can often be overlooked. Reflection is not your strong point, even though you are the wise one of the universe. It’s a fire sign issue; you want to be strong. So anything that makes you feel vulnerable is ignored.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22- Jan 19): Complexity and struggle attracts you; you want to unravel the puzzle, solve the problem and in so doing engage all of yourself: mind, body and spirit in the moment. Helen Keller, the first deaf blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

AQUARIUS (Jan 20 – Feb 18): Saturn is now in your tenth house of career, and its time to reap the rewards of your many years of effort. Over the next two years you will put the icing on a cake you have been baking for some time. Don’t linger in the past; your future is waiting for you. Be in the moment, that’s where the gifts are.

PISCES (Feb 19 – March 20): Your ruler, Neptune, is a quiet troublemaker. It’s soft and ethereal and so it is easy to ignore its power. However, when it’s around for any length of time, (it only knows how to move at a snails pace) it will shake up your world by eroding old illusions, fantasies and false dreams.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19): It’s important to learn how to shape yourself to achieve a goal; too often you expect others to fit into your vision. Adjustments are not your strength, moving forward with the truth is. What you will learn is that the truth is essential to know, but not always the smart thing to declare.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20): Maintaining your truth in your relationships is your challenge. You love to please because you want to be loved or respected above all things. But the real challenge is to love yourself. You can’t do that if you’re always shaping your truth in order to keep everyone else happy.

GEMINI (May 21–June 21): Part of the Gemini challenge is the ability to change directions for the right reason. You don’t want to run at the first sign of trouble, but you do want to let go when you realize you can make a better decision. Since your talent is versatility, you can try something new without letting go of the old.

CANCER (June 22- July 22): You have trouble with authority and being told what to do. With Saturn in your 5th house for two years, you may find that your passive side takes on a more aggressive nature. It’s time to speak up and stop hiding your opinion. You love stirring up trouble and then stepping out of the way.

LEO (July 23 – August 22): It’s time to expand your friendships. With Jupiter in your 11th house it will be easy to meet new people. Get yourself out of your comfort and do something different. It’s important to change your routine and get passed your routine. Don’t be afraid of shaking up your world, it can be fun.

VIRGO (August 23 – Sept. 22): You know how important choices are; if you have trouble making decisions because you want to be perfect, then you will find yourself stuck or paralyzed in your life. Having a new experience is more important than doing the “right thing.” One learns through trial an error.

LIBRA (Sept 23- Oct.23): Saturn is gone from your sign, but it now occupies your second house of finances and values. Don’t be surprised if you get a new accountant, or start keeping track of your budget – you want to feel in charge of your money. If you want discipline in your spending pay attention to your emotional needs.

SCORPIO (Oct 24- Nov 21): You seldom listen to the authority of others, and if you’ve been smart about it, you’ve probably avoided having anyone in a position to tell you what to do. Since February of this year, things may have changed. Clarity is the issue, stay focused and don’t be surprised if those above you demand it also.

Tuesday Tip!

It is pretty cold, wet and miserable outside and I for one, am in need of a boost! A simple way to give yourself some more energy, as well as help fight off depression and stress during winter, is to get involved in some Vitamin B! It is also essential for maintaining healthy skin, hair and nails, by helping cell reproduction and encouraging constant renewal of the skin.

In the long-term Vitamin B can also be hugely beneficial. Results of a two year study by researchers from the University of Oxford, the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Oslo in Norway, reported that large doses of vitamin B can halve the rate of brain shrinkage, a process that can precede Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The research confirms that the key to maintaining a healthy and active mind and slowing down the ageing process can be scientifically linked to high vitamin B intake.

You can encourporate more B Vitamins into your diet by including liver, meat, eggs, milk, cheese and some varieties of fish. A great alternative is to pop into EF MEDISPA Kensington and try a Drip & Chill, where we offer a whole range of vitamin and mineral infusions, for preventative medicine and anti-ageing. For some time, I have been promoting the use of direct vitamin infusions because they are the most effective means for the body to absorb high doses without any adverse reaction from the digestive tract. The Drip & Chill is a totally painless and very relaxing treatment – you’ll feel full of energy afterwards and many of my clients report having the best nights sleep in years.
