Tuesday Tip!

Well with the fleeting sunshine, it looks like it’s back to the rain, the cold and…more rain! At EF MEDISPA we have pioneered the very best treatment, if you like me, need an instant ‘pick me up’ or feeling a little under the weather.

I have been having vitamin infusions for several years, since I realised that this was the most efficient way to supplement the body’s deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. But this meant queuing up at a doctor’s surgery and then sitting in the clinic reading last month’s Vogue. To be honest it was more like a visit to the dentist and not top of my list of things to do.

Enter the fabulous Drip & Chill Treatment at EF MEDISPA. The Drip & Chill ® lounge at my Kensington Clinic uses nutritional infusions as a method of feeding vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances, directly into your bloodstream. By-passing the digestive system is the main advantage of nutritional infusions unlike other supplements I’ve tried in the past which must be processed through the stomach and the intestines.

We offer a range of cocktails for all types of conditions so if you are feeling low on  energy perhaps a bit stressed or even struggling with weight issues and general ailments, the Drip & Chill really is a fantastic solution.

Call the Kensington clinic to book you Drip & Chill Treatment.

The beautiful Danai teaching

Catwalk beauty is all about a ‘post workout’ glow this summer. Yet as I discovered last month, take a yoga retreat on foreign shores and never mind make up- you’ll sun salute your way to a skin that’s brimming with health!

A week of working my downward dogs, tackling seated twists and perfecting my cobra has left me looking and feeling fabulous thanks to yogi, Danai, who leads the wonderful ‘Light In Mykonos’ retreat each year.

Leaving my hubby to toddle off on a boy’s holiday, I got myself a matching mani/pedi in my Duri Tudor Rose pink shade, packed my most fabulous cozzies, (courtesy of our made-to-measure service at Petits Bisous) – and took to the shores of this beautiful Greek island for some much-need ‘me time’.

My stunning villa view in Mykonos

I was up for two and a half hours of fast-flowing Jivamukti yoga at 8.30am, then it was on to a well-deserved late breakfast. And for anyone who assumes a healthy retreat is code for celery sticks can think again. Deprivation was strictly off the menu as we brunched on traditional Greek egg, cheese and spinach dishes or juicy fresh fruit. Later we roamed around the winding cobbled streets of Mykonos town to discover incredible restaurants hidden away behind tiny holes in the wall. Not to be missed is Nammos was a beach-based restaurant full of young beautiful girls and slightly older rich men!

I did my best to bypass the sweet Greek pastries and instead, fluttered my newly-tinted lashes at the bronzed Adonises down onto the beach before heading back to my private villa for some slower, sunset yoga. When we weren’t yoga-ing, there were of course sightseeing trips galore to keep us entertained.  But for those of us who felt like a long, lazy afternoon, it was back to the pool for some sun lounging and pampering.

Sunset Yoga

I managed to resist a mega shopping spree – but as you know, I’m a sucker for trying a beauty treatment here, there and everywhere. So off I treated myself to a daily massage – a remedial therapy that complemented my twice-daily yoga practices and ironed out all the lumps, bumps and aches that anyone who works at a desk will know all about. Back in London, I’ve made weekly stretching, my new beauty mantra and to this day am still sporting my yogic glow!

Tuesday Tip!

He’s here, The Royal Baby has arrived! Huge congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the birth of their first child. We hope Kate continues to do well; no doubt she will look absolutely radiant as ever, stepping out to give the world the first glimpse of the Royal Prince.

For pregnant and newbie mums, it is essential to feel healthy during and after pregnancy which is why EF MEDISPA has put together the very best treatment packages to have you blossoming and your skin glowing, like Kate Middleton.

Facial peels are not only very effective for anti-ageing; they are also an extremely suitable and beneficial treatment for women during their pregnancy when experiencing hormonal changes to their skin. At EF MEDISPA we offer a fabulous range of peels to stimulate the renewal of cells and collagen to leave your skin feeling refreshed, lifted and hydrated.

During your pregnancy, it’s really common for your skin to become wrinkled, loose and thin due to the skin stretching as the bump grows.  The SPA RF treatment at EF MEDISPA is really effective post pregnancy if you are not breast feeding, to help banish stretch marks and tighten the skin.

Once you are fully recovered post giving birth, (bearing in mind that recovery times vary and if in doubt this will be addressed during your consultation) Colonic hydrotherapy is a naturopathic treatment used to cleanse your body and is extremely beneficial for newbie mums. It’s a very popular treatment post pregnancy because it offers a sense of ‘lightness’ to the body, improved skin clarity, and offers an overall relief of stress, often associated with pregnancy. I highly recommend it!

And finally, once you’re ready and need a little helping hand and steer in the right direction to shift that baby weight, why not try our fabulous Well Woman Diet. Working with our In-House Nutritionist, we will ensure your body is getting the right amount of nutrients and your diet programme will be being tailored towards your new lifestyle.

To book any of these treatment, simply give your nearest EF MEDISPA a call to book with our lovely reception team who will be happy to help you!

Pah! We know fashion designers tend to favour a catwalk but at Petits Bisous we like to do things differently. Which is why we decided to showcase our new summer swim collection amongst the oh-so glamorous surroundings of the Bulgari Hotel pool. And just like there’s always a battle for the best seats on the international Fashion Week FROW, our show proved to be so popular that we had to do the whole thing twice! As more than 80 guests gathered around the lapping waters, our models were prepped and primed to perfection by the experts at Neville Hair and Beauty. Then out came the summery iced teas and fresh fruit kebabs and on went the music by the Gotan Project as our super luxe one pieces, plunging halter-necks and body flattering bikinis became the real stars of the show.

Yet planet fashion being what it is, while our guests were ticking off their must-have buys for this summer, I’m already thinking about what you’ll all want to be wearing next time sunny season arrives. During my recent trip to Paris for the fabulous weekend’s Interfilière show, I found myself surrounded in beautiful silks, heading into the swarms of people seeking out the best possible satins and losing my marbles amidst the piles and piles of fine lace!

Our fast-growing loyal customer base at PB loves nothing more than something really pretty. So while we focused on chic blacks and berry colours for AW, I searched high and low for some softer shades for our new collection of flowing chiffon dressing gowns and figure-flattering separates. With so many stands to get round, visiting shows is always a super busy time. But well – what’s a girl to do when she’s whisking around here, there and everywhere? I even got a chance to pop off to the Palace of Versailles to hear the singing fountains then squeeze in a Biologique Recherche facial once I touched down in London. It’s tough- but someone’s got to do it!

PS Thanks to everyone for their support at the Grand Prix Ball at The Hurlingham Club. Our Petits Bisous gift vouchers went down a treat as part of the fund raising efforts in aid of CLIC Sargent among certain glamorous wives and girlfriends of F1 stars. See you on the King’s Road soon ladies!
